Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare binder for electrophotographic toner having a low lowest fixing temp. and a high offsetting temp. with respect to a heat roll by using a high mol.wt. copolymer resin which has a mol.wt. higher than a specified value and is prepared by copolymerizing a (substd.) styrene and a (meth)acrylate ester as the structural units in the presence of a specific polymn. initiator. CONSTITUTION:A high mol.wt. copolymer resin having a mol.wt. of 300000 or higher, prepared by copolymerizing a (substd.) styrene (e.g. styrene) and a (meth)acrylate ester (e.g. n-butyl acrylate) as the structural units in the presence of a polyfunctional polymn. initiator (e.g. 1,1-di-t-butylperoxy-3,3,5- trimethylcyclohexane) is used to prepare the title binder.
