Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a binder for inorganic molded goods sufficient in the dry strength of molded goods and giving smooth surface to dried goods even if the adding quantity is small by blending galactomannan as a main agent and hexitol as an additive.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of molding as a plastic molding material by adding water into a powdery and/or fibrous inorganic raw material, the binder is added into the raw material and mixed and, the binder consisting of galactomannan as the main agent and hexitol as the additive is used. An oxide based ceramic, non-oxide based ceramic and a metallic material are cited as the inorganic raw material and are used alone or jointly. Alumina, magnesia, zirconia or the like is exemplified as the oxide based ceramic. Silicon carbide, boron carbide, titanium nitride or the like is exemplified as the non-oxide based ceramic. Iron, carbon steel stainless steel or the like is exemplified as the metallic material.
