Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for lithium ion secondary battery electrodes which offers good adhesiveness, which is small in the degree of elution and the degree of swelling in a carbonic ester-based electrolytic solution, and which is capable of shrinking or expanding according to the application of a pressure and removal thereof, and capable of keeping following an electrode active material even after the repetition of such expansion or shrinkage.SOLUTION: A binder for lithium ion secondary battery electrodes comprises (A) a cross-linked polyvinyl acetal-based resin which includes structural units given by the formulas (1) to (3), and of which the degree of acetalization is 10-40 mol%. (R1 represents H or an alkyl group with C1-C10.) The formula (3) is a structural unit given by the formula (2) with R1 consisting of a functional group including an unsaturated ethylene bond.
