Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the initial strength of a casting mold and to improve the productivity of the casting mold by using a phenolic resin for an acid-curing resin and specifying the pH of the compsn.
CONSTITUTION: This binder compsn. for molding sand contains the acid-curing resin as a binder and peroxide as an oxidizing agent and is used for molding the casting mold by sulfur dioxide. The acid-curing resin is the phenolic resin formed by mixing or co-condensation of the phenolic resin or furan resin. The pH of the compsn. is specified to 4W8. The initial strength of the casting mold is thereby improved and the production speed of the casting mold is increased.
