Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin of which the stability is increased by raising the viscosity of a slurry by making the viscosity of a binder resin aqueous solution larger than that of a conventional one while keeping the dispersibility of a carbon-based material in a binder resin solution by making a molecular weight within a fixed range.SOLUTION: A binder resin for a secondary battery electrode comprises: a polymer (A) which satisfies all of the following requirements (α) to (γ). Requirement (α) is that the polymer (A) has an N-vinylformamide based structural unit; Requirement (β) is that the polymer (A) has a peak top molecular weight of 800,000-1,500,000; and Requirement (γ) is that 3-mass% aqueous solution of the polymer (A) has a viscosity of 0.4-2.0 Pa s.
