PURPOSE: To provide a binder which is suitable for anticorrosive coating material consisting of a zinc dust pigment and is storage-stable over a long period of time by incorporating n-butyl acrylate into the binder containing a silicic acid ester, a solvent, a promoter and an anti-settling agent as bases.
CONSTITUTION: This binder contains, as a base, a mixture comprising a silicic acid ester (preferably an ethyl silicate oligomer containing from 24 to 40 wt.% SiO2), a solvent, a promoter and an anti-settling agent (preferably a styrol/ acrylate copolymer), has a flash point of 21°C or higher and contains n-butyl acrylate of preferable 6 to 60 wt.% based on the total weight of the binder. If required, the binder is blended with a curing catalyst such as a monoethanol amine or the like at the ratio of 0.5 to 25 wt.% to the silicic acid ester.
