To provide a compact and inexpensive binding apparatus for welsh onion or the like which is suitable for the use of small-scale producers who produce and forward the welsh onion or the like of relatively small amount, and capable of reducing the binding work or the label affixing work for the welsh onion or the like.

A shallot binding device 1 comprises; a shallot supporting part 2; a label feeding part 3; a rubber member forming unit 4; and a shallot binding unit 5. In the shallot binding device 1, when a worker loads the shallot on a label 6 after the label 6 is automatically arranged on a binding table 13 of the shallot supporting part 2, the shallot binding unit 5 binds the shallot so that the label 6 automatically surrounds stalk portion of the shallot. Thus, the worker can bind the shallot and affix the label 6 only by loading the shallot on the binding table 13 and removing the shallot bundles from the binding table 13 after the binding.
