The binding device includes a binding clip leading mechanism for guiding and leading the connection body 15; a binding body guide/hold mechanism for guiding and holding a binding section of the bound body with respect to the binding through-hole of the binding clip located at the head of the connection body; a connection body advancing mechanism for advancing the binding section held by the binding clip; and a separation mechanism for separating the binding clip by descending the binding section together with the connection body advancing mechanism.
