Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of a binding and folding device capable of performing both saddle-stitching/folding processing and side stitching processing, and achieve the miniaturization and cost reduction of the device.SOLUTION: A binding and folding device 20 is provided with a guide plate 241 for guiding a distal end of a sheet bundle, which is positioned and side-stitched on a first transfer path (a belt 221 and a guide plate disposed thereon), between a pair of folding rollers 243 when side stitching processing is performed. Even when either saddle-stitching/folding processing or the side stitching processing is performed, by allowing the sheet bundle to be transferred on a second transfer path 250 from the folding rollers 243 toward the downstream side of a sheet transfer direction, the transfer paths of the sheet bundle are made common in performing the saddle-stitching/folding processing and performing the side stitching processing. Thereby, the configuration of the binding and folding device 20 can be simplified.
