PURPOSE: To further simplify a binding work through effective utilization of the bending habit of a binding belt by a method wherein the binding belt is wound around a belt case so that the binding belt is unwound in a direction, in which the belt is wound around a substance to be wound, when the binding belt is unwound from a binding tool body.
CONSTITUTION: When a binding work is effected, a binding belt 3 is pulled out from a belt case 2 and inserted through a rear end opening 8 of a binding tool body 1. The binding belt is extended through a lock tool 4 mounted to the front end of the binding tool body 1, and is discharged to a position below a substance 45 to be bound by a proper length. In this case, the portion, extending over the substance 45 to be bound, of the binding belt 3 is curled upward and namely in a direction, in which the binding belt is wound around the substance 45 to be wound, due to a bending habit produced in the belt case 2. A tip 3a of the binding belt 3 is then grasped by a hand and inserted in a lock tool 4 at the front end of the binding tool body 1, and a rack is locked to the lock tool.
