PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a tension for applying a tape to a bound item in the most- suitable state and surely adhere the tape.
SOLUTION: A binding tape T is drawn out to shield a transferring passage 2 after passing through a bridging passage 12. An adhering surface of the binding tape T is directed on the transferring passage 2 to face toward a rear part (a direction of an arrow B) of the bound item. Further, adhered surface of the binding tape T is guided to a side surface 6b of an arm 6 arranged on the transferring passage 2, and the extremity end of the tape is held by an extremity end 6c of the arm 6 and a flap 7. A bound item W1 is abutted against a portion of the binding tape T guided by the side surface 6b of the arm and closing the transferring passage 2. Subsequently, the arm 6 is rotated in a clockwise direction in synchronous with motion of the bound item W1, the binding tape T in the bridging passage 12 is pushed with the extremity end 6c of the arm in a rearward direction and the tape is adhered to the rear surface of the bound item W1 in the transferring direction. After this operation, the binding tape T is cut with a cutter 8.
