Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a coating film evading bacteria, compatible with body fluid, particularly blood and tissue, capable of selectively suppressing cell propagation and excellent in bioactivity by graft-polymerizing a specific vinyl monomer on the surface of a base material such as plastics with radiation or heat. SOLUTION: At the time of applying a bioactive coaing on the surface of the base material, particularly plastics (or polymer), at least one of vinyl monomer expressed by the formula, R-(A)a (R represents an a-valet olefinic unsaturated organic group, advantageously a hydrocarbon group, A represents carboxylic group-COOH, sulfate group-OSO2 OH, sulfonic group-SO3 H, phosphoric group- OPO(OH)2 , phosphonic group-PO(OH)2 , phosphorous group-OP(OH)2 or the like, (a) represents integers of 1-6) is graft polymerized by radiation or heat on the surface of the base material previously treated with a high molecular initiator having a radical formation group in the side chain of the polymer skeleton.
