Title:
BIODECOMPOSABLE POLYMERIC SUBSTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3179563
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the biodecomposable polymeric substance containing micro organism cellulose as a constituting component and capable of controlling its biodecomposing property in response to the addition state, addition amount, etc., of the microorganism cellulose, while maintaining the strength of the poly mer raw material at a practical level.
CONSTITUTION: The biodecomposable polymeric substance comprises (A) microorganism cellulose, preferably the cellulose produced by subjecting a microorganism belonging to the genus Acetobacter to a standing culture using a medium containing a carbon source, an inorganic salt and, if necessary, amino acids, vitamins, etc., and (B) a polymeric substance (e.g. chitin, gelatin or starch). The biodecomposable polymeric substance is produced by disintegrating the component A by the use of a mixer or a pulp-disintegrating machine, converting the product into microfibrils with a high pressure homogenizer, etc., centrifuging the suspension, and by mixing the obtained pasty disintegrated product with the component B by the use of a mixer, etc., for obtaining their composite product, or by adding the component B to the medium culturing the component A to produce the composite product of the components A and B.
