Title:
BIODEGRADABLE LATEX WEB MATERIALS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0616834
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide materials having enough strength and cut-off properties, and being composed mainly of cellulose having enough biodegradability as well.

CONSTITUTION: Latex web composites contain a fibrous base web which includes various cellulose fiber and has a breaking length within the range of about 0.80 to <6.20 km and form a latex web composit by being treated with an impregnant-containing latex supplemented by the impregnant of about 16 to 80 parts wt. based on dry weight per 100 parts wt. of the said fiber. In such a case, the said latex web composit has a strength of at least about 50 kg/cm2 and a ratio of wet strength and dry strength of about 0.2 to about 0.6. In this case, the said latex has a glass transition temperature (Tg) within the range of about -50 to about 20°C and contains synthetic polymers and natural polymers. The synthetic and natural polymer exist in the latex web composite in the ratio of synthetic polymer/natural polymer of about 2/1 to about 4/1 based on the total weight of the polymers.
