To provide a biodegradable nonwoven fabric having advantages in that the disposal is greatly facilitated after use and a load applied to the environment is ultralow and further having good rigidity, bending repulsion, air permeability and surface smoothness and to provide a filter.
The biodegradable nonwoven fabric is a nonwoven fabric in which biodegradable fibers are integrated by heat bonding. The biodegradable nonwoven fabric is characterized as follows. The surface average smoothness of at least one surface of the nonwoven fabric is 5-60 μm and the following formulae are simultaneously satisfied; (1) 3.4X-Y≤110 [wherein, X is the basis weight (g/m2); and Y is the bending repulsion strength (mgf)]; (2) 0.012X-Z≤-0.1 [wherein, Z is the thickness (mm)]; and 80≤X≤350. The filter is characterized in that the filter is composed by using the biodegradable nonwoven fabric.
