PURPOSE: To provide the long fiber nonwoven fabric excellent in flexibility and strength and having biodegradability with microorganisms, and to provide the method for producing the same.
CONSTITUTION: The biodegradable nonwoven fabric comprises many long fibers produced by melt-spinning a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester resin capable of being degraded with microorganisms, and the aliphatic polyester resin contains a glycol and one or more aliphatic dicarboxylic acids or their derivatives as constituting components. At least one of the aliphatic dicarboxylic acids is cinnamic acid or its derivative, and the melt flow rate of the resin is 15-70g/10min under conditions comprising a temperature of 190°C and a load of 2.16kgf. The temperature of the in the melt-spinning process is higher by 50-135°C than the melting point of the resin, and the water content of the resin in the melt-spinning process is ≤0.2% by a Karl Fischer's method. The fineness of the long-fibers is 1-10 denier. The long-fiber nonwoven fabric has regular or intermittent self-fused regions.
