Title:
BIODEGRADABLE NONWOVEN FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08337955
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a biodegradable nonwoven fabric having excellent tearing strength, softness and formability by using a biodegradable fiber as a main component and a cellulose acetate having low substitution degree or a specific polycaprolactone as a binder.

CONSTITUTION: A nonwoven fabric is produced by the fluid interlacing treatment of a web of one or more kinds of biodegradable fibers selected from natural animal fibers such as wool, natural vegetable fibers such as cotton, regenerated fibers such as viscose rayon and semisynthetic fibers such as cellulose acetate. The nonwoven fabric is impregnated with a biodegradable binder solution composed of a cellulose acetate having a substitution degree of ≤2.1 or a polycaprolactone having a number-average molecular weight of ≥10,000 and mixed with a caprolactone having a number-average molecular weight of ≤2,000 and the impregnated product is dried to obtain the objective biodegradable nonwoven fabric.
