To obtain a biodegradable paper product suitable for a disposable paper cup by forming a coating layer comprising an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, an acrylic copolymer and a starch in the inside of the paper product.
An emulsified ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer is formulated with an emulsified acrylic copolymer and a starch in the ratio of 5.5-6.6:1.7-2.3:0.8-1.3 to prepare a coating solution. One side of a base paper is coated with the coating solution by a coating roller having 100-150 meshes in 10-20 g/m2 weight, dried at 130-150°C and a coating film is formed to give a first product. Then, if necessary, a letter or a pattern is printed on the first product, a coating film is formed on a thermally bondable region corresponding to one side of a uncoated face of the first product by the similar manner and quenched to 5-7°C to give a secondary product, which is formed into a fixed shape to give a biodegradable paper product.
