To provide a method for producing biomass charcoal, which achieves improvement in yield of biomass charcoal by contacting generated tar with a carbonized material and efficiently recovering carbonized material powdered and discharged to the outside of the kiln to prevent reduction in yield of biomass charcoal and efficiently cools the produced carbonized material in producing biomass charcoal by carbonizing biomass using a rotary kiln, and an apparatus for producing biomass charcoal used therefor.
The method for producing biomass charcoal by carbonizing biomass by using the rotary kiln 10 includes cooling at least a part of a tar-containing exhaust gas 4 generated in the carbonization discharged from the rotary kiln 10, contacting the gas with the biomass charcoal 3 discharged from the rotary kiln 10, and attaching at least a part of the tar to the biomass charcoal.
