Title:
BIOMASS DERIVED HARD POLYURETHANE FOAM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3888982
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomass substance derived polyurethane foam which has strength properties of a foam by no means inferior to those of the conventional synthetic polyol derived foam, and makes the most of the characteristics of a biomass substance.
SOLUTION: The biomass substance derived polyurethane foam is obtained by reacting a polyol composition comprising ≥30 wt.% biomass-derived polyol with a polyisocyanate, and the polyurethane foam has a cell communicating ratio of ≥65% and an SI represented by formula (I): SI=y/x2 [wherein y is a compression strength (Pa), and x is a density (kg/m3)] of ≥80.
