Abstract:
To provide a coal-based briquet fuel capable of, through addition of an additive at production, having enhanced ignitionability and increased combustibility and reducing soot generation during burning.
The briquet fuel is produced by reducing coal into the form of powders with particle sizes of about 3 mm or less, mixing into this 3 wt.% or more of a similar-size biomass dry distillation product, further, in the case of a sulfur-rich coal, adding a powdery desulfurization agent (CaCO3, Ca(OH)2, MgO, or Mg(OH)2) with a particle size of about 1 mm or less at a molar ratio of calcium or magnesium in the desulfurization agent to sulfur in the coal of 1:1.5 to 2.0, and mixing the resultant uniformly for molding.
