Abstract:

To provide a biomaterial having low rigidity, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance.

The biomaterial contains a metallic glass alloy having a composition of formula: (Ti1-a-b-cCuaZrbPdc)100-xMx (wherein a, b and c are atomic ratios: a is 0.3-0.5; b is 0.005-0.2, and c is 0.005-0.2; x is atomic percent and is 0.5-2 atomic percent; M is an element selected from at least one of HA, CaTiO3 and CaZrO3). Alternatively, the biomaterial contains a metallic glass alloy having a composition of formula: (Ti1-a-b-cCuaZrbPdc)100-xCax (wherein a, b and c are atomic ratios: a is 0.3-0.5, b is 0.005-0.2, and c is 0.005-0.2 and x is atomic percent and is 0.5-10 atomic percent).
