Title:
BIOMIMETIC SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3243937
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect a target chemical substance, especially an offensive substance, with high sensitivity by fixing a thin film, obtained by causing polymer reaction under presence of a target chemical substance and extracting the target chemical substance from an organic polymer, to the surface of a transducer.
CONSTITUTION: The biomimetic sensor 1a comprises a gold electrode 2 formed on the surface and rear of a crystal unit 1, a thin polymer (MIP) film 3 formed thereon while storing the three-dimensional molecular structure of the target chemical substance, and a lead 5 passing through a supporting base 4. At first, polymer reaction is methacrylic acid and ethylene glycol dimethyl acrylate is caused under presence of a target chemical substance, i.e., geosmin, to produce an MIP. The MIP can be utilized as a selective receptor having a molecule recognition function similar to the antibody of an organism. When a thin MIP film 3 is formed on the surface of the crystal unit 1, the unit 1 can serve as a sensor for detecting the target chemical substance with high sensitivity based on the variation in the frequency or resonance angle of light caused by the selective adsorption of molecule in the target chemical substance.
