Abstract:
To provide novel carrier compositions for efficiently delivering a therapeutic agent, diagnostic agent, or targeting agent to a therapeutic site, in the treatment of diseases such as cancer, or in vivo diagnosis.SOLUTION: Provided is a carrier composition that comprises: a carrier containing a hydrogel carrier or carrier particles; a first binder that adheres to the carrier and contains a first bioorthogonal functional group that is a member of a first complementary binding pair; and a second binder that adheres to the carrier and contains a second bioorthogonal functional group that is a member of a second complementary binding pair that is different from the first complementary binding pair, when the carrier contains the carrier particles, the carrier composition further comprising a targeting agent attached to the carrier particles. The first bioorthogonal functional group and the second bioorthogonal functional group are preferably trans-cyclooctene or tetrazine, and azide or alkyne, and are preferably covalently linked to a functionalized payload such as a therapeutic agent via a linker.SELECTED DRAWING: None
