Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a BIOS data storage device of a computer system and its driving method that can reduce the cost by storing BIOS data in a specific area of a static RAM used for a cache memory, without using any expensive ROM.
SOLUTION: The BIOS data storage device of a computer system comprises a cache/BIOS memory 10 that functions as a cache memory and also functions to store the BIOS data, a main memory 20 to copy and store the BIOS data stored in the cache/BIOS memory 10, a central processing unit 30 to access the BIOS data stored in the cache/BIOS memory 10 to prepare for driving the computer system, a main power source control part 40 to supply or cut off main power, a control part 50 and a system power source part 60.
