Title:
BISMUTH-CONTAINING SUPERCONDUCTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP04228429
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the manufacture of sintered powder which enables the manufacture of such a sinterable superconductor that nuclear fission is caused approximately 25×1014 to approximately 5×1014 times per cubic centimeter at the time of irradiation with heat neutrons.

CONSTITUTION: Particles of a sufficient amount of superconductive compound are coated with uranium-235 and/or plutonium-239 dopant atoms. The superconductive compound is selected out of Bi2CaSr2Cu2O8±x (where (x) ranges from 0 to 0.5), Bi2-yPbyCa2Sr2Cu3O10±z (where y ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 and (z) ranges from 0 to less than 1), and mixtures thereof.
