Title:
BISMUTH RARE EARTH ELEMENT OXIDE SOLID SOLUTION OF TRIGONAL SYSTEM STRUCTURE AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2710272
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a bismuth rare earth element oxide solid solution of trigonal system structure useful as a sensor material having high function by mixing bismuth oxide with a prescribed oxide in a fixed molar ratio and heat-treating the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: Bismuth oxide or a compound to be decomposed into bismuth oxide by heating is mixed with a rare earth element oxide of Dy, Ho, Y or Er or a compound to be decomposed into the rare earth element oxide by heating in the ratio of 45-50mol% in the case of the rare earth element of Dy or Er or 40-50mol% in the case of the rare earth element of Ho or Y. Then the mixture is heated to ≤90°C to give the objective bismuth rare earth element oxide solid solution of trigonal system structure of the formula (Ln is Dy, Ho, Y or Er; (x) is 0.4-0.5 when Ln is Dy or Er and (x) is 0.4-0.5 when Ln is Ho or Y).
