Abstract:

To allow the system to verify whether or not a bit stream is in compliance at least with the MPEG standards by monitoring and analyzing the quality of the MPEG bit stream with the bit stream quality analysis system provided with a demultiplexer, a bit stream quality analyzer and a graphical user interface.

A line interface 175 receives an MPEG bit stream and converts it into a bit stream with a format suitable for a demultiplexer 180. The demultiplexer 180 demultiplexes the received bit stream into many kinds of elementary bit streams and monitors them, and provides the output of a video elementary bit stream to a bit stream quality analyzer 190. The analyzer 190 analyzes and decodes it to extracts many kinds of parameters and changes a quality analysis level as to the bit stream. The quality analysis monitor information is displayed for the user via a graphical user interface 200.
