PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine for oral administration comprising an ester of mono- or diglyceride and polycarboxylic acid and a bitterness reducing agent capable of effectively reducing bitter taste of food, etc., being safe and capable of using without taste of food.
CONSTITUTION: This bitter taste reducing agent contains an ester of a mono- or diglyceride (whose constituent fatty acid residue is preferably lauric acid, oleic acid, etc.) with a polycarboxylic acid (e.g. malonic acid or succinic acid). The bitter taste-reducing agent in an amount of 0.1-3wt.% is preferably blended into a medicinal composition, food or cosmetic. The blend amount of the bitter taste-reducing agent is preferably 0.1-100 pts.wt. based on 1 pt. wt. bitter taste component in the medicinal composition, 0.1-50 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. bitter taste component in the food or 0.1-50 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. bitter taste in the cosmetic. Furthermore, the bitter taste component includes e.g. a sodium alkylsulfate, menthol or methylparaben.
