Abstract:
PURPOSE:To surely correct an output of a defective picture element even when a level of the defective picture element is increased in accordance with a temperature rise by avoiding correction to an output of the defective picture element by a 1st correction means when a 2nd correction means applies preliminary interpolation to an output of the defective picture element corrected by the 1st correction means. CONSTITUTION:In the usual image pickup mode, an address signal of a defective picture element read from a memory 13 and an address signal from a horizontal/ vertical counter 6 are compared and when they are coincident with each other, a sampling circuit 3 holds a signal portion corresponding to the defective picture element. Furthermore, a system controller 4 allows a correction control circuit 15 to give a mask signal to a correction circuit 16 when a level of the stored defective picture element is the stored level or over in the correction of the defective picture element thereby avoiding the correction by the correction circuit 16 to the output from the defective picture element whose level is fluctuated.
