Title:
DAMPING DEVICE FOR BUILDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3222602
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To protect a structure from torsional vibration produced by the application of a plurality of actuators by detecting a stroke distance of the plurality of actuators, and computing the difference between detected stroke distances and correcting a damping command signal for every actuator so as to eliminate the computed differences.
CONSTITUTION: When a building is shaken, a speed sensor mounted to the building outputs a speed signal to damping command circuits 13 and 16. The damping command circuits 13 and 16 output damping signals f0x1 and f0x2 equivalent to the speed signals to adders 7 and 8 respectively. In a stand-still state, actuators 5 and 6 stroke with hydraulic pressure based on these signals and displace additional measures in the direction identical to the damping direction. When a stroke distance Y1 is identical to a stroke distance Y2, the output of torsional compensation circuits 14 and 17 will be zero. However, when they are differential, the torsional compensation circuits 14 and 17 output compensation signals -α(Y1-Y2) and α(Y1-Y2) equivalent to the difference. This constitution makes it possible to correct the damping signals f0x1 and f0x2 so as to eliminate the differential stroke distance (Y1-Y2).
