Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bleaching compound providing a new peroxyacid useful as a compound capable of effectively bleaching textiles over a wide range of temperatures.
SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I or II [R1 is an about 1-14C alkyl, an about 1-14C aryl or an about 1-14C alkaryl; R2 is an about 1-14C alkylene, an about 1-14C aryl or an about 1-14C alkaryl; X is a compatible anion; (n) is 1 or 2; Y is 0-6], e.g. magnesium salt of N-decanoyl-6- aminoperoxycaproic acid. The compound represented by formula I or II, e.g. the exemplified compound is obtained by reacting N-decanoyl-6- aminoperoxycaproic acid with magnesium hydroxide. The N-decanoyl-6- aminoperoxycaproic acid is prepared by reacting N-decanoyl-6-aminocaproic acid with hydrogen peroxide. A composition containing the compound represented by formula I or II is especially effective in removing dingy soils from textiles. The composition manifests effective bleaching power over a wide temperature range of 5-85°C.
