To obtain a bleaching compound having a specific substituted amide structure, giving an amide-substituted peroxy acid capable of effectively and efficiently bleaching the surfaces of cloths, excellent in properties for removing spots and stains and maintaining a bleaching effect in a wide temperature range, and useful for peroxy bleaching compositions.
This bleaching compound has a structure of formula I [R1 is a 1-14C alkyl, an aryl, an alkaryl; R2 is a 4-8C alkylene, an arylene, an alkarylene; R5 is H, a 1-10C alkyl, an aryl, an alkaryl; L is a releasing group such as a group of formula II (M is sodium or potassium) whose conjugated acid has a pKa of 4-13]. For example, 6-benzoylaminocaproic acid p-phenol sulfonic acid ester sodium salt. The exemplified compound is obtained by reacting 6-benzoylaminocaproic acid with anhydrous sodium p-phenolsulfonate.
