To provide a bleed air recovery device which reduces a refrigerant amount leaked from the bleed air recovery device of a turbo refrigerator to the atmosphere maximally and recovers the refrigerant, and to provide a method of operating the bleed air recovery device.
The bleed air recovery device of the turbo refrigerator including an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor and a prime mover driving the compressor includes: a purge condenser 1 having a heat exchanger 2 provided therein; an adsorption tank 63 having a refrigerant adsorbent 60 and a heater 58 for heating the refrigerant adsorbent 60; and a differential pressure detector 4. The purge condenser 1 and the adsorption tank 63 are interconnected by connection piping (A) including an on-off valve transferring noncondensing gas to the adsorption tank 63 and an orifice and connection piping (C) including a purge pump transferring refrigerant gas from the adsorption tank 63 and an on-off valve. The adsorption tank 63 is connected to an outer discharge port by connection piping (B) with the on-off valve, or includes a connection piping with an on-off valve transferring refrigerant gas toward a low pressure part of the turbo refrigerator.
