PURPOSE: To provide the subject blend obtained by compounding a specific thermoplastic polyester and a vinylphenol containing polymer in a specific ratio and suitable for use in packing because of excellent miscibility and chemical resistance and transparency.
CONSTITUTION: The objective blend is obtained by compounding a thermoplastic polyester (A) consisting of a diacid component containing an aromatic group and a diol component containing 20 mol.% or more of an acyclic aliphatic diol and a vinylphenol-containing polymer (B) so that a ratio of the components A, B becomes 1:99-99:1 with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the sum total of the components A, B. As the diacid component constituting the component A, phthalic acid or terephthalic acid is pref. and, as the diol component, ethylene glycol or butane diol is pref. As the component B, one having a mol.wt. of 30,000-100,000 dalton is pref.
