PURPOSE: To provide a blend consisting of an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer and amorphous polyamide, excellent in oxidative stability and thermal stability and suitable for a thermoformed structure, films or a multilayered structure.

CONSTITUTION: 5-95 wt.% of an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) with copolymerized ethylene content of 20-50 mol% and a saponification value of 90% or more and 95-5 wt.% of a polyamide component (B) having a glass transition temp. of 160°C or lower and containing 30% or more at least one amorphous polyamide (e.g.; hexamethylenediamine, isophthalamide) having fewer than 0.1 equivalents per kg of a carboxyl terminal group are compounded.
