Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a copolymer for a tacky adhesive which is excellent in adhesive power and in thermal stability.
CONSTITUTION: The copolymer is obtd. by hydrogenating part of double bonds of conjugated diene units of a block copolymer of an A-(B-A)n type or [(A-B)n]m+1-X type [wherein A is a polymer block mainly comprising arom. vinyl compd. units; B is a polymer block mainly comprising conjugated diene units; (n) and (m) are each an integer of 1 or higher; and X is a residue of a polyfunctional coupling agent] and epoxidizing a part of the rest of the double bonds of the conjugated diene units.
