PURPOSE: To achieve the perfect automation of block copy making process by obtaining the intended accurate point of the instructed original from the position information of the specific point on the instructed original patterns and performing pattern processing.
CONSTITUTION: At the time when the magnetic detector 21a of a drawing head 21 detects the magnetic field of the electromagnet 14a of cursor, the signal corresponding to the difference in the resistance values of Hall elements 21a-1W2 is supplied to a follow-up pulse generating device 40. The output of the device 40 is applied to a control unit 41. The unit 41 lets the head 21 follow up the center position of the index of the cursor. On the other hand, at the time when the head 21 follows up, the pulse information is counted in a counter 42. When the position detection is instructed by a keyboard 16, the value of the counter 42 and the code by the keyboard 16 are stored in a position register 45. This information is converted to absolute coordinate and in an arithmetic unit 49, the same point of the values of the instructed point register 46 and reference point register 47 is detected. In an arithmetic unit 51, the specified point is obtained and is stored in a register 52. This information is read out to a drawing control unit 56, which in turn controls the head 20 and solenoid 60.
