PURPOSE: To make it possible to widen the range of roll worked products by providing the above rolling mill with first and second connectors for interconnecting an intermediate drive assembly to the one side of first and second line shafts via first and second intermeshed gear sets.

CONSTITUTION: Sizing roll pairs 12 are mounted in a cantilever system to roll shafts 14 having pinion gears 18. These pinion gears are respectively intermeshed with spur gears 20 mounted at intermediate drive shafts 22. The one of both intermeshed spur gears 20 intermeshes with the third spur gear 36 mounted at the third intermediate drive shaft 38. This third intermediate drive shaft 38 further has an intermediate passive bevel gear 40 and this intermediate passive bevel gear 40 intermeshes with the intermediate drive bevel gear 42. The intermediate drive bevel gear 42 is mounted at a traversing shaft 44 so as to extend across the two segment line shafts 28a and 28b and is mounted freely rotatably with respect to the traversing shaft 44.
