To provide a non-yellowing novel blocked alicyclic polyisocyanate compound and an alicyclic polyisocyanate compound which can be utilized as polyurethane raw materials for elastomers, coating materials, adhesives and the like.
The blocked alicyclic polyisocyanate is obtained by blocking ≥90% isocyanate groups of an aromatic polyisocyanate compound containing ≥0.1 wt.% hindered aromatic isocyanate compound having at least one isocyanate group bonded to a carbon atom adjoining the carbon atom of an aromatic ring connected to a methyl group or a methylene group in the molecule with the use of at least one compound having an active hydrogen selected from active methylene compounds, carbamic acids, ureas, and acid amides, thereafter further blocking the remaining isocyanate groups with an alcohol and/or an amine which has a molecular weight of ≤130, and hydrogenating ≥80% aromatic ring of the aromatic polyisocyanate compound.
