Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a blood cell-increasing agent having little side effect and activity extremely increasing a number of blood cells, e.g. platelet and erythrocyte, excellent in life lengthening effect and useful e.g. for radiotherapy of cancer by compounding ursolic acid (salt) as an active component.

CONSTITUTION: This blood cell-increasing agent contains ursolic acid (salt) of formula as an active component. Further, the daily dose of the active component is preferably in the range of 1-1000mg for an adult. The active component is obtained by extracting e.g. fruits of Uvae ursi folium, etc., with an organic solvent, e.g. ethanol.
