PURPOSE: To allow the application even to a patient having decreased blood clotting factors by housing a separating membrane having a specific fibrinogen transmittance and albumin transmittance in a plasma separator.
CONSTITUTION: The fibrinogen transmittance of the separating membrane housed in the plasma separator is required to be ≤20% (more preferably ≤10%). The fibrinogen introduced into a plasma adsorption column increases and the influence on the patient's blood clotting system increases when the fibrinogen transmittance exceeds 20%. The albumin transmittance of the separating membrane is required to be ≥50% (more preferably ≥60%). The amt. of the bilirubin, which is the etiologic material of hepatic insufficiency, and many etiologic materials which bond to albumin, such as paracoat dichloride, which is the etiologic material for drug poisoning to be introduced into the plasma adsorption column decreases and the performance to remove the etiologic materials degrades if the albumin transmittance is below 50%.
