Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood component separating method capable of separating red blood cells according to a degree of aging by an approach different from a conventional one.SOLUTION: Blood is guided to a flow channel 2 having a branch part 6, and a magnetic field MF along a direction crossing the flow of the blood is generated in a region A where the blood flows into the branch part 6 so that Lorentz force according to electric charges with which red blood cells in the blood are charged, and the magnetic field is caused to work on red blood cells. The flow channel 2 is branched at the branch part 6 into a first branch path along the direction of the Lorentz force F and a second branch path 12 in a second direction different from the first branch path 11, and the red blood cells on which the Lorentz force F works are guided to the first branch path 11 so that the blood component in the first branch path 11 and the blood component in the second branch path 12 are differentiated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
