PURPOSE: To expand a blood vessel under vasospasm conditions by laser beam radiation and to thereby restrain the vasospasm conditions effectively and surely by converting the wavelength of laser beam output from a light source to a wavelength within a designated range, and then conducting the same to the blood vessel by a light wave guide means.
CONSTITUTION: A solid-state laser 1 as a light source comprising Nd:YAG laser and a harmonic generator 1a are combined to generate laser light of plural wavelengths, and one of generated wavelengths is selected by a wavelength selector 1b to incide as excitation light on a light wavelength converter 2. Laser light with wavelength of 700-2000nm is generated and the laser light incides on the second wavelength converter 2a, whereby aimed laser light with wavelength of 400-600nm is obtained. Subsequently, the laser light is applied to the second wavelength selector 3, and laser light with the required wavelength, for example, laser light with wavelength of 500nm is taken out. The laser light is guided through a light waveguide device 4 to a blood vessel of the head of a patient which has suffered from intrathecal bleeding.
