A near-infrared image analyzing and processing unit (5) distinguishes between pixels of an artery part and pixels of a vein part according to magnitude correlation between a predetermined value and a differential value between the maximum luminance value and the minimum luminance value of each pixel in blood vessel pixels extracted from near-infrared image data of a living body (2). An image data composite processing unit (7) creates a composite visible image data of the living body from generated artery part image data and vein part image data. An image data display unit (8) displays an image of the composite image data.
