Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent blooming or clouding by moisture-condensed water and/or water drop by providing a surface layer containing transparent photocatalyst particles on the surface of a base material for a dental mirror and setting the surface of the layer to hydrophilic according to light excitation of photocatalyst so as to spread the moisture-condensed water and/or water drop on the surface of a layer.
SOLUTION: A layer containing a photocatalyst is formed on the surface of a base material for a dental mirror. The surface of the dental mirror is set to highly hydrophilic according to light excitation of the photocatalyst and, if the moisture in the atmosphere is condensed and stuck thereon, it is prevented from growing into a water drop so as to become a uniform water film. When the surface layer is composed of only photocatalyst particles, it is preferable that the photocatalyst is oxide. Silica is made to contain on the surface layer containing the photocatalyst particles or solid acid is made to contain on the surface layer. Silicone is made to be contained further in the surface layer and the surface of the surface layer becomes to exhibit hydrophilic property of 10° or less in terms of the contact angle with water according to the light excitation of the photocatalyst.
