Abstract:
To provide a liquid absorbing paper excellent in liquid absorbency and freshness-retaining property.SOLUTION: A liquid absorbing paper is produced by wet papermaking of a fiber raw material. The fiber forming the fiber raw material contains a conifer kraft pulp of 40 mass% or more. The liquid absorbing paper is composed of a two-ply sheet, each ply sheet having irregularities formed by embossing. The liquid absorbing paper has: a basis weight of 25-35 g/m/ply; a specific volume of 8.0-15.0 cm/g; wet tensile strengths of 850-1350 cN in the longitudinal direction and 600-1200 cN in the crosswise direction; and tear strengths of 600-1000 cN in the longitudinal direction and 800-1200 cN in the crosswise direction. The liquid absorbing paper has crepe formed by a wet process, and mesh marks of 10-50 lines/inch by a bulky wire.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
