Abstract:
To provide an automatic train operation system for allowing a train to spontaneously perform risk avoidance.SOLUTION: An automatic train operation system includes: an on-board apparatus 10 mounted on a train T; a front monitoring device 30 mounted on the train T for monitoring an area in front of the train T; and ground-side facilities (ATC loops 21, a position correction ground coil 22, an ATO ground coil 23, and so on) for providing information to the on-board apparatus 10. A traveling control unit 14 of the on-board apparatus 10 performs the automatic operation of the train T, including departure from a station, traveling between stations, and stopping at a station, on the basis of the information received from the ground-side facilities, and stops the train T if the front monitoring device 30 detects an obstacle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
