Title:
ON BOARD POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT SEPARATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000123696
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To surely cut off a power source circuit of an automobile in an emergency by winding a detonating cord on a conducting wire connecting an on-vehicle power source and a load, and connecting a current source connected to a felt signal of a shock detecting circuit to an electric blasting cap communicating with the detonating cord.

An electric blasting cap 7 is formed by housing a heating resistance wire 12 on which igniting powder is mounted and an explosive 11 in a container 13, and the end of a detonating cord 6 is inserted into the container 13. A lead wire 14 of the heating resistance wire 12 is connected to a current source which outputs current with an output signal of a shock detecting circuit. A housing 10 is made of a stiff metal divided into two, forms a hole into which a conducting wire 5 is inserted, and after the conducting wire 5 is inserted, the housing 10 is bound with a metal band in hermetically sealed structure. When current flows in the heating resistance wire 12 from the current source with a signal of the shock detecting circuit, the explosive 11 is exploded by heat, then the detonating cord 6 is exploded, and the conducting wire 5 is disconnected and separated. Explosion of the detonating cord 6 occurs within the stiff metal housing 10, the residual or a spark of explosion is not scattered around the circumference, and a secondary accident can be prevented.
