Title:
BODY FRAME STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3563180
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high rigidity without relying on a body shell, by providing a strength member extending in the longitudinal direction of a body, between a driver seat and an assistant seat in a sitting room space.
SOLUTION: A frame 1 is composed of two side rails 2; six cross members 3; and two side sill rails 5 connected to the appearance surfaces of the side rails 2 through a torque box 4. And a center rail 13 as a strength member extending in the longitudinal direction of a body is provided between a driver seat and an assistant seat in a sitting room space, and the center rail 13 is connected to a rear bulk head 11 and a front dash board upper 8b at the rear side. Consequently, a high rigidity can be realized without relying upon a body shell. Especially, the buckling strength as to the longitudinal direction of the sitting room space of an open body can be reinforced at a high efficiency.
